Thank you to Swanél Roux for her big donation! I caught her name when she asked for directions to the Golf Club. Much appreciated!!!
Can someone clear up what the donations are exactly for? My understanding is that most (85%) of the houses that burnt down are holiday houses and are covered by insurance. Most of the people living on the canals are pretty well off, or above the average income earner. Do i now have to donate so that a holiday home or primary residence can be re built that is covered by insureance?
Surely the municipal infrastructure should be replaced and funded by the municipality?
Please clarify then exactly what the donated money will be spent on?
Regards
Gustav
Its my understanding that my comment was pasted on your facebook page. I am not on facebook and therefore was not able to reply to the comments made. Please note i did not personally attack anyone but merely asked a valid question/s. The are many tragedy’s happening all around us everyday and many people in desperate need of help more so than the people in St Francis. I use to work for the Auditor General and trust me when you see starving children wearing rags for clothing in the middle of winter with skins so dry it looks like crocodile skin begging you for something to eat, it makes me ask the question, should I donate money, who really is in the most desperate need? Hence i asked the question. Tony, thank you for clarifying what donated moneys will be spent on. This now allows not only myslef but other persons wanting to donate, to make an informed decision.
Kind regards
Gustav Lokotsch
