Edited by Kouga Chronicle: 14 April: After spotting a car on the R102 that had been flagged in Gqeberha as stolen on Monday, Humansdorp SAPS cops swiftly acted and arrested two suspects.

The statement last night from the Office of the Provincial Commissioner says the swift action of the Humansdorp K9 Unit, Gqeberha K9 Unit, and the Gqeberha Flying Squad led to the recovery of a green Chevrolet Spark in Voortrekker Road, Humansdorp. The car has been reported stolen by an elderly woman in Bethelsdorp, Gqeberha, on 13 April.
The two occupants, aged 30-36, were immediately arrested for carjacking and possession of suspected stolen property, and the car was confiscated, the Commissioner’s Office statement said. It added that the suspects are expected to appear before the Humansdorp Magistrate’s Court on charges of carjacking and possession of a hijacked vehicle.
Acting Sarah Baartman, District Commissioner, Colonel Henry Leslie, commended the members for their swift action. “Your unwavering commitment and loyalty to protecting our communities does not go unnoticed,” he said.
