Thousands of imitation sim cards made in Sandton house, South Africa

The SA Police Service (SAP) pounced on 43 suspected illegal immigrants and two South Africa in a Sandton house who were making imitation sim cards.

Thousands of sim cards from all South African mobile cellphone networks and a substantial number of computers were found and seized by the SAPS.Members from Gauteng Organised Crime Investigation Unit raided the house and found the suspected illegal immigrants, aged 17-36 years.

Further investigation led the police to a garage and backroom where they found the imitation sim cards manufactured on the premises. Technicians from some of mobile cellphone networks were called to the house and they confirmed the the sim cards were an imitation.
