Speculation is that there will be no new temporary bridge for vehicles across the Sand River completed before Friday this week
Department of Roads and Transport personnel are on site at the Sand River bridge. They aim to start rebuilding the bridge once the water has subsided. If it has subsided enough construction will start tomorrow and it should be finished by Friday .
At the moment the water flow is too strong but they are monitoring the situation. The Department expects to be better able to give time frames for the rebuilding of the bridge by this afternoon.
Currently no vehicles can leave or enter St Francis Bay. There is a foot path across the bridge.
(Will keep you posted.)
