St Francis Bay water to be cut during upgrades next week

The water supply in several areas of St Francis Bay will be cut on 29 and 30 April when 21 underground fire hydrants int St Francis Bay will be replaced with hydrants above ground .

The water supply to the following streets will be interrupted periodically over the two days while work is being done. In brackets are the numbers of hydrants to be converted:

  • Grande Comore (1)
  • Poivre Crescent (2)
  • Aldabara Road (2)
  • Peter Road (2)
  • Leach Road (2)
  • Saxe Road (1)
  • Basil Place (1)
  • Ralph Road (1)
  • Neville Road (1)
  • Napier Road (1)
  • Frank Road (2)
  • Lovemore Crescent (1)
  • Lyme Road South (2)
  • Assissi Drive (2)

Should the contractor be unable to complete the conversion by Tuesday, work will continue on Thursday next week.

In order to avoid dirty water and air locks in the system, residents are advised not to use the water in the pipes immediately the water supply returns, but to run the garden tap nearest their water meters to ensure the water is clear before using taps in their houses.
