More than R60 000 was raised for Rotary projects in Pellsrus and Sea Vista through the Rotary Easter Golf Day in St Francis Bay.
“We are thrilled with the outcome of this year’s event,” said club president, Salomien de Klerk.

The winning players with a score of 49 were Andre du Preez and Neil McCune. The next three places all scored 47. Counted out in second place were Ryno du Preez and J P Venter and third were John Summerton and Dassie Biggs. Just pipped to the top three placings in the 4th place were Kobus Snyman and 90 year-old Tucker Vorster.

The 12th annual Rotary Easter Golf Day sponsored by recycling company, Green Guardian was held at the St Francis Bay Golf Club. This year’s competition was a 2 Ball Betterball competition with 160 entries taking part on a cool and windy day which set the challenge for course.
The golf day is the major fundraising event organised by the Rotary Club of Jeffreys Bay and Satellite Club of St Francis each year. “We want to say a huge thank you to all of our sponsors and prize donors who make this event possible and also to the players who played in such good spirit and generously supported our cause,” said de Klerk.

The first three pairs in the tournament were rewarded with vouchers to play at Pezula Golf Course, Simola Golf Course or the St Francis Links. Fund raising efforts were given a boost from the proceeds of a hamper of goodies valued at R5000, as well as an auction for aMiyazakidriver and a painting by local artist, Gerrie van Tonder.
MC and auctioneer, Jo Brown, infused the prize giving with excitement and warmth.
