The volunteers at St Francis and Hermanus were out on the streets this weekend for their annual street collection, raising much needed funds for their bases. The St Francis crew were at the stop streets and intersections in St Francis Village as well as the Spar shop and raised R16 500 for their base.

Motorists who were approached for donations at St Francis Bay street intersections this morning were most generous and dug deep into their pockets.
A delighted station commander, Marc May, told St Francis Chronicle the amount exceeded that raised last year.
The high total achieved made the stand in the hot summer sun this am really worth it.. Afterwards the NSRI crew had a braai lunch at Sand River Lodge.
Funds raised goes towards much needed NSRI equipment, maintenance, training and petrol.

The Hermanus crew, despite the bad weather on Saturday, based themselves at the Total robots, the Marine hotel traffic circle and at the harbour entrance and raised R32 600 for their station.

The crew at Yzerfontein had a busy weekend with the annual Snoek Classic. They towed one boat, helped with a few sea sick participants and did a casualty evacuation of a diabetic.

On Sunday evening the wine auction fund raiser, with Bok Radio presenter Rooiers as auctioneer, raised R5 500. Thanks to all who donated the wine and to the Taj hotel in Cape Town who, for the second year, donated an overnight stay and breakfast at their hotel.

The NSRI H/O thanks all volunteers who went out on the fund raising drive and all who donated so generously.
