It seems as though work could start tomorrow morning which will restore vehicle access across the Sand River by about 6 pm tomorrow or Thursday morning latest, a news update received at 12 pm today from Marius Keyser, District Roads Engineer, Department of Roads, said. “However the weather will be the determining factor,” he advised.
Keyser said the temporary causeway which was constructed as an emergency measure was vulnerable to further flooding as experienced yesterday . “We are however on standby to repair the damage as soon as the flood water has subsided sufficiently . We appreciate the patience and support from the local community.”
