The Paradise Beach causeway/bridge at Jeffreys Bay is closed to motorists and pedestrians.
The causeway has been under repair for the past few months. One of the culverts that is still to be repaired collapsed last nigh, leaving a hole in the causeway.
The contractor doing the repairs is not on site at the moment because high water levels are preventing them from working.
Kouga Municpality says it canot predict when the contractor will return to work nor when the bridge will be re-opened because the current delay is beyone its control.
Kouga Municpality says it will keep residents updated of the situation at the bridge.
