Missing Sea Vista child found

A 7 year-old boy reported missing last night was found earlier this morning, 17 March.

The child, who was last seen playing near the Sea Vista sports field at around 4 pm, was found sleeping under planks at a house next door.

He was reported missing around 7 pm last night when he had not returned home. He was apparently discovered by neighbours in the yard of their  home this morning. It is  understood the boy was too scared to go home.

There was much consternation in the area last night as people said they were frightened after the murder of 6 year-old Decan Anoster last month. Decan’s body was found in the bushes in St Francis after he failed to return home by 9 pm.

An 11 year-old is being held in a place of safety in Port Elizabeth in connection with Decan’s death and will appear in court on 27 March.

Parents whose children are missing are urged to report the incident to the SAP.  St Francis Chronicle has offered to publicise news immediately about missing children  – so as to alert community members  to be on the lookout for them.   St Francis Chronicle can be contacted at 042 294 1964.
