Mick Fanning of Tweed Heads, NSW, Australia, above, took his second victory of the season by winning the J-Bay Open at Supertubes, Jeffreys Bay, South Africa today, 19 July 2014.
Defeating childhood friend Joel Parkinson (AUS) in the final with a heat total of 17.00 points (out of a possible 20.00) which included a near perfect 9.00 point ride and an excellent backup ride of 8.00 points (each out of a possible 10.00). The victory earns Fanning US$100000 in prize money and moves him into third on the Samsung Galaxy ASP World Tour ratings.
