Linschoten yacht towed to shore by NSRI

Early this morning the NSRI Hout Bay towed the Linschoten yacht to shore after it suffered mechanical problems.

Lyall Pringle, NSRI Hout Bay station commander, said at 5 am , 5 August,  the NSRI volunteer duty crew members were activated to assist the 66-foot Catamaran yacht sailing from Saldanha Bay to Simonstown suffering battery failure and being low on diesel.  The yacht with four men on board was 5 nautical miles off-shore of Hout Bay.

“NSRI Hout Bay launched the sea rescue craft Nadine Gordimer and  took the yacht under tow and brought it into Hout Bay without incident.
