Jordy Smith of Durban, South Africa (pictured) suffered a massive upset when he was defeated by CJ Hobgood (USA) during Round 3 of the J-Bay Open on Monday July 14, 2014. Smith posted an excellent 8.00 ride (out of ten) but failed to find a second high scoring ride and was eliminated from the event.
