Hats off to to Viking Bakery for organising this fantastic local Shavathon event that raised about R7000 for Cansa. It was one of the best Shavathon’s ever!
Crowds flocked to the Shavathon and the festive air attracted young and old – most of whom coloured their locks or had them shaved all off. Many of the latter then had their bald pates sprayed with colour paint.
A delighted Cindy from Viking Bakery expressed her extreme thanks to everyone for whatever input they gave on the day. “It was a lovely atmosphere,” she said.
The Shavathon was a tremendous draw card for local residents who came out of hibernation to have a great morning and the weather played ball for most of the morning. The event was also great for all the visitors in town.
The holiday crowd soaking up the fun and sun.
Thanks to all the shops and people in the community who all contributed to make the day fantastic by their great stalls with a variety of offerings from clothes, books and food. Talking of food, three great potjies were cooked and the the seafood and beef potjies were voted the best.
Being a non-meat eater, I took home the most scrumptious seafood dish for lunch!
