Fire in Sea Vista razes seven shacks

Seven shacks burnt down in St Francis Bay’s Sea Vista suburb today about 3pm this afternoon leaving 17 people and one infant destitute, without homes and belongings.

The seven families living in the Malema informal settlement say they were all at work and they do not know how the fire started as they do not have stoves, only gas bottles.

Anyone who can assist by providing clothing, linen, blankets and pillows plus some food supplies, will be so appreciated. Items can be left at Calibre Security that will drop them off for the the families.

The fire victims are currently taking shelter in the local Sea Vista community hall.
