Dale Staples of St Francis Bay advanced into Round 2 of the VANS World Cup of Surfing at Sunset Beach, North Shore, Oahu, Hawaii yesterday (27 November 2012).
He posted a heat total of 12.37 points (out of a possible 20.00) which included a 7.67 and 4.70 point ride (each out of a possible 10.00) to take first place, defeating Myles Padaca (HAW), Cory Lopez (USA) and Dege O’Connell (HAW). Dale now advances into the next round of competition.
The VANS World Cup of Surfing is the second jewel of the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing and the last ASP Prime Event on the ASP Prime Tour.
