The final day of the Billabong Pro Jeffreys Bay at Supertubes has been called ‘On!’ this morning with the Quarterfinals starting at 7:30 am. “The champion will be crowned this morning,” an Asp World Tour tweet stated.
“While conditions aren’t ideal today, there’s certainly plenty of swell and we’ll get underway at 7:30 am,” Rich Porta, ASP International Head Judge, said before this morning’s start. “Several days ago surfers opted for today’s potentially messy and consistent conditions over clean and inconsistent and we’re here today.
“That said, there’s still some punchy surf out there and we’ll watch the world’s best surfers do their thing. Good luck to everyone today.”
Up first this morning will be Damien Hobgood (USA), 32, against Jordy Smith (ZAF), 23, in Quarterfinal 1.
Updates will be posted later during the course of the day.
