An ARWC team member receives treatment after injury this am

A first casualty the ARWC race was reported this morning after one team member in Strong Machine. Team 18, was injured and medics attended to the injured racer. The Strong Machine team is continuing with the race but without the injured member.

There are also reports of lots of mist and members of the Media following their teams are advised to to be cautious.

It was, however, a wonderful 1st Day of racing yesterday for the ARWC race yesterday without incident yesterday. This morning early reports say Swedish Armed Forces are still in the lead .

Race leaders Swedish Armed Forces Adventure Team 5 hours ago were on Leg 2 – Cycle (181km) for almost 5.5hrs. Behind them is a river of teams – those on Leg 2 and those still on Leg 1. It looks like 72 teams have checked in at TA1 leaving 35 teams still in the dunefields.

Leg 2 is estimated to take the front teams around 10.5hrs, which will see them reaching TA2 around 06h00 (GMT +2) – just after sunrise..

Read this great account by sleepmonsters who are following the racing teams on the first day.
