Owing to the burst pipe in Lyme Rd North which required the use of the TLB we were not able to start excavating the ditch off Tarragona Rd yesterday.

Further excavation will take place next week.
However today a portion of this ditch has been cleaned out and the pipe under Tarragona unblocked to allow water to flow. The work will continue subject to weather conditions next week. (See photo above)
The other area that has been addressed is at the top of Harbour Rd. Because of the anticipated rains this weekend, precautionary steps have been taken at this point to try and divert rain water away from residences.

An urgent request to motorists please drive with caution on the roads this weekend.
I would urgently request all motorists to take care at this intersection as part of the road has had to be blocked to divert the water.
A meeting has now been arranged between council, ward counsellor Ben Rheeder, Provincial Roads Dept, the SFBRA and management of both golf courses to discuss the storm water problems affecting St Francis Bay. This meeting will take place on July 25 chaired by Danie Rautenbach from Kouga Municipality. Anyone who has constructive thoughts and ideas is welcome to contact me on 082 465 3719.
Most of the dam on the stretch of St Francis Drive adjacent to Harbour Rd has now washed away. All this ill conceived idea did was to cause flood water to be diverted into Santareme, mostly down Segres Rd.
