Four men allegedly entered a holiday home in Lovemore Crescent St Francis Bay while the family watched TV upstairs at 8.30 on Friday evening, 23 June 2012.
According to a press release by SAP Communications, the balaclava clad men wearing white surgical gloves entered through a sliding door and threatened the family with a knife taken from the kitchen.
Three men ransacked the house while the other guarded the family upstairs. Household goods, jewellery, cellphones, cash and a laptop were taken. (22/06).No one was injured in the incident.
The dog unit was called and worked most of the night without finding the suspects.
In another incident, the same night, SAP Communications said, a St Francis Bay permanent resident at the Airpark was allegedly awoken by the sound of breaking glass at midnight. When she went to investigate, she saw two balaclava men climbing through the bathroom window.
She screamed for her husband and the couple were threatened with a knife. When the man screamed for his firearm, the intruders ran off. A case of housebreaking is being investigated by police.
