Full moon fish night raises R5000 for NSRI

A highly successful fish night over Easter raised R5000 for NSRI St Francis Bay.

The event organised by Jo Brown saw the local NSRI lads and gals in blue cooking fish for supper for visitors and locals alike.

Events organiser, Jo Brown, hands over the raised funds to Marc May, station commander of NSRI St Francis Bay.

Held on Squid Square and under a full moon on a clear Friday night, the event was well attended. While adults enjoyed their fish meals – cooked by Adam Brown, Anneke and Marc May – the children held mini Monte Carlo type bicycle races on the square. Inside the former Dock O‘ the Bay restaurant, the band Ragtop performed for the crowd.

NSRI official merchandise was also available. Plus there were local artworks on display (and sold).

Visitors to the adjacent Eco Centre were thrilled with displays and the touch tank experiences provided by Sam and Rob Bester.  Then the Shakti Shanti Fashion Show event, also held on the Easter weekend, involved local girls strutting the catwalk wearing Maria’s beautiful clothing range.

At the same time a delighted Rosie Loots won a R500 Shakti Shanti voucher when she was crowned Miss Port St Francis 2012.
