Ghastly pothole near Kromme bridge now fixed

Commuters to and from St Francis Bay will be delighted to know that the dreadfully big  pothole between the Kromme River Bridge and the Oyster Bay turn-off has now been repaired.

This is thanks to Nigel Aitken, the supervisor for the Kouga Municipality pothole repair team, and who is charge of roads and general infrastructure for the St Francis Bay Residents’ Association.  Aitken contacted Marius Keyser of Provincial Roads Dept to remind him about the dangerous pothole.

Aitken says Keyser was under the impression that it had already been repaired. He then promised to attend to it immediately – so it has now been filled.

Aitken says there  is definitely a problem in this area of road. It appears there is a underground spring.

“During the last two days the pothole team have filled the potholes in Kansies Street as well as Assissi Drive and part of College Ave. Today Lyme Road North and parts of Lyme Road South were repaired,” Aitken says..

“There are a few other areas in the village that need urgent attention after which we will move back into Santareme.”
