Well known Bob Meikle , a former NSRI station commander in St Francis Bay, this morning had his beard that he has sported for the past 20 years, shaved off for Cansa.
An enthusiastic crowd egged him on, together with the event master of ceremonies, Warren Manser of Tourism, at the annual Shavathon held at St Francis Village shopping centre. The Shavathon turned into a mini carnival with stalls selling foods and interesting items. The most original had to be the Brooker boys’ idea to sell old pieces of the Sand River bridge as souvenirs.
