Enjoy wine at St Francis Food and Wine Festival

Two wine experts will be giving short introductions on wine tasting made
simple and the joy of wine at the first ever St Francis Food and Wine
Festival on 14 December.

The event will run from 11 am – 7 pm at St Francis Links. The presentations by
Michelle van Eeden is winemaker at local  Cob Creek Estate.and Dave Swingler, a wine writer who rates wines for the Platter wine guide. Will be at 12 noon, 1 pm and 3 pm. Chef Brad will be doing a cooking demonstration at 2 pm.

The Festival will feature 22 award winning wine farms and boutique wineries
like Cape Point, Hartenberg, Newton Johnson, Oak Valley, Strandveld, Scali,
Tokara and many more.  Each wine farm will show case a number of top wines
from the estate, so this is your opportunity to taste all the wines you have
ever dreamt of! A staggering seven of these farms received the highest
accolodate this year, a 5 star wine award in the Platter 2012 wine guide
that was launched recently.

More than 35 of the 100 wines available to taste at the Festival have
received a 4+ rating in the Platter Guide. For lovers of sparkling wines
there are several to taste. The wine farm Kleinood/Tamboerskloof will also
be showcasing their delicious extra virgin olive oil, De Boerin.

Entrance fee is R100 per person which includes tasting of all the wines as
well as a free tasting glass.  Tickets are selling fast so secure your place
by getting a ticket from “The Book and I” in St Francis Bay now

A delicious array of food including gourmet pizzas, artisan breads, pates
and a limited selection of hand-made cheese will be on sale. For the very
hungry there will be a lamb on the spit.

Wines will be for sale on the day. The St Francis Bay Liquor Store will
stock wines for follow-up sales over the busy holiday season.

All proceeds from entrance fees will go to St Francis College . Taxis available on request to encourage responsible drinking.
