A body washed up yesterday at Jeffreys Bay is suspected to be that Simon Moses who was presumed to have drowned at St Francis Bay last week.
A body was found yesterday evening at 6.08 pm (2.5 kilometers from where Moses originally went missing).
Reighardt Janse van Rensburg, NSRI Jeffrey’s Bay station commander said: “At 6.08 pm yesterday NSRI Jeffrey’s Bay volunteer sea rescue duty crew were activated following reports of a suspected drowning in progress on the Paradise Bayside of the Kromme River Mouth.
“On arrival it was confirmed that a body of a man was floating in shallow water near to the beach.
The SAP was summoned and NSRI rescuers assisted Police to recover the body of a male, suspected to be the body of a man who went missing at St Francis Bay’s Main beach on Wednesday last week.
“The body was handed into the care of the Forensic Pathology Services and Police are arranging for positive identification and for an autopsy to be performed to determine if this is the same man and to determine the cause of death,” Van Rensburg said.
