The winning team for the annual Calamari Classic Bowling Tournament was from Kouga this year.

Dalena Muller, Hennie Slabbert, Barbara Coetzee and David Morton from Jeffreys Bay Bowling Club won the trophy. Mill Park Bowling Club was placed second and Grahamstown third. The booby prize for the event was presented amid much laughter to the Walmer Country Club Bowling team.
The Bowling tournament took place for the 12th consecutive year in perfect weather conditions at the St Francis Bay Bowling Club from 23-25 September. A full entry of 24 mixed teams from as far afield as Pietermaritzburg and Oudtshoorn was fielded.
“The tournament has become so popular that for the first time we had nine people on a waiting list,’ says Joy Wicks of the St Francis Bay Bowling Club organising team. “We have had bowlers from this tournament book for next year already so as to be sure of their place.”
The event was a jovial affair catered by the club’s lady bowlers with great prizes from the sponsors Personal Trust International, St Francis Village Superspar, Viking Bakery, Barron’s Grill and Haywire.
CEO of Personal Trust, Johan van der Westhuizen handed out cash prizes while the Club President, Johan Rust, awarded the trophy.
