The St Francis Bay MTB Challenge that was due to be held at St Francis Links next month (September) has been postponed to 27 November owing to excessive rain in the area during the last three months.
Parts of the 35 km and 70 km routes are under water and emergency vehicles need to reach cyclists at any time – this is not possible right now and it is unlikely the water will dry up over the next few weeks.
Online entries are open on www.stfrancissport.co.za till 23 November. Late entrants pay a R30 late entry fee (not applicable to the 5 km ride). All online entries received before 15 November will receive T-shirts.
The entry fees are R30 (5 km), R40 (15 km), R80 (35 km) and R120 (70 km) plus R35 for day licences for the 30 km and 70 km races, for non-CSA (Cycling SA) members.
A bike worth R5 000 is one of the great lucky draw prizes, according to organisers St Francis Sport. For more info call: Richard Arderne on 083 284 0168
